Welcome! I’m delighted you stopped by. Here I share from my heart where I’ve been and where I am on this journey, especially what I’ve learned in the hard places of life. I’d love to hear from you as we have much to learn from each other, don’t you agree?
Married to Joe for 23+ years, I am the mother of three lovely daughters and one delightful son. We are in our 16th official year of homeschooling, though their learning began long before they were born. An English major in college who never wanted to be a classroom teacher, I’ve nonetheless taught children of various ages (and a handful of adults) piano, writing, and choral music. I’m a voracious reader of all well-crafted genres, and love a well-turned phrase, wordplay, and puns. I’m most free in woodsy parks with hiking trails and waterways. And I’ve been known to join my kids on playground equipment, especially swings and slides.
Leoa means “lion” in Portuguese. This is my spirit’s name, the one called forth by the Lion of Judah into eternal life the moment I said “yes” to Jesus. He was my constant through near-death events, mental illness, and prison (both literal and figurative). It is my privilege to share what He has done in and through me, with you.
